From couples and individuals we’ve worked with or trained:
“My family’s experience with the Dasi-Ziyad Family Institute has affected our household in many positive ways. Of course love is the cornerstone of a family, but the stresses of life get in the way. After learning the valuable and simple skills taught through the marriage education workshops, when stress hits our home we have tools to effectively and respectfully communicate our concerns or needs within the family. Instead of causing misunderstandings and hurt feelings, we have learned skills that increase understanding and put everyone in the family on the same team, working together to solve problems.
Being around the leaders of the Dasi-Ziyad Family Institute has also had a dramatic effect on each of us as individuals and as partners in a marriage. They not only talk the talk, they walk the walk. This inspires us to have the courage and hope that we, too, can change for the better. With a strong commitment to each other, family and community, we can all become the source of a cascading effect of positive change in our lives and the world. Thank you Dasi-Ziyad Family Institute for all you do. It does make a difference! Hooray! -N & J Summers
I received your cd, Uplifiting songs for kids, and I love it! Thank you so much for sharing about your experiences …… and how to inspire children. Love and well wishes ~ Jennifer
“I wanted to thank you so very much for giving of yourself to our life and marriage. Without this special gift of mercy from the Lord, I don’t know where I’d be. Thank you for making me and my husband friends again.” -D. Szakacs
“What I liked most about the marriage and family course was the personal example of the facilitators, Krsnanandini and Tariq, who walk their talk and have helped others do the same. The facilitators were competent, wise, and fun teachers. Lots of interaction, group work, sharing. I loved your openness, modeling of skills, behavior, teamship and that we discussed issues that are sometimes taboo.” -N. Kishore
“We really enjoyed Saturday. It (the mentor couple graduation) was a great balance of information and affirmation. The audience really got into it and seemed like they wanted to participate even more than time allowed. You have wonderful support, and it was a well-thought-out program. Great. Thank you again for letting us join in. The food was great too!” -J & D
One gentleman said, this graduation ceremony (certified mentor couple graduation) generated such “powerful, warm energy.” (Dr. Diana Leigh, the director of the Healthy Marriage Collaboration, who drove down from Columbus just could not stop exclaiming about how our program was beyond her expectations. Several people commented about how there was so much networking, mingling and interaction afterwards.)
“I wish my sister and her husband could have been here!” said another, “those couples trained by the Dasi-Ziyad Family Institute, are so inspirational.” Another guest told us, “that food, that vegetarian meal was so delicious-a fitting end to the treat that we had just being a part of this graduation ceremony.”
To the Young Pioneer Staff:
Sorry, “T” will not be at school today. He is wheezing and his ear infection did not clear up, so he is taking a new medicine. He is very upset because I’m keeping him home today and he won’t be able to attend the Young Pioneer session. Thank you for your help and time spent with “T” and other children. I pray you (The Young Pioneer Project), will be at the school in September when school starts again.” -Mr. & Mrs. Lambert
From Agencies and Businesses we’ve served through workshops, seminars and trainings or developing curricula:
“It was a pleasure to have you come and present to our mentors on “Problem-Solving” on July 29. Your focus on communication and applying principles in relationships seemed to help mentors refocus their objectives in building their relationships with parents and students.” -K. Walker, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Juvenile Mentoring Program
“Thank you for sharing your wonderful message on “The Benefits of a Principled Family” at the Glenville Branch Library. Your handouts, interactive style of presentation and questions and answers session augmented the understanding such a seminar is expected to generate. Members of the audience requested another seminar which you agreed to facilitate in August. We are honored that you will share your precious experience with the participants again.” -R. Olayiwola, Head Librarian
“Tariq S. Ziyad and Krsnanandini Devi Dasi provided a family training and development seminar for families experiencing distress in their lives. The training was very interesting, providing thought-provoking information for the families to take home and consider. The co-facilitation process of husband and wife provided an excellent model for how parents, couples or men and women should interact” Their seminar has several positive implications, they are as follows:
- Changing of a person’s (unhealthy) belief system
- Modification of a person’s (unhealthy) social system
- Increased spirituality and faith
- Greater awareness of (each one’s) strengths
- Thinking with an open mind
-K. Boyd, L.S.W., Parmadale Family Services
