At the request of some of the leaders of the Hare Krsna movement, Dasi-Ziyad Family Institute developed the Vaisnava Marriage Services Registry to assist some of its members find compatible spouses.
Vaisnava Marriage Services Registry was created out of desire to serve the serious Vaisnavas who could appreciate assistance in finding suitable spouses. This service is provided for:
- The devotee (male or female) who wants to marry a compatible spouse;
- Parents who want to provide their daughters with quality choices of compatible devotee fiancés.
The Vaisnava Marriage Services Registry facilitates God-conscious marriages between candidates in accordance with scripture. We offer preparation and support to devotees in their premarital and marital relationships. This service is dedicated to our beloved spiritual master His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and to our god-brother and siksa guru, His Holiness Bhaktitirtha Swami.
“The daughters should be handed over to the respective rsis, not blindly, but according to the combination of character and taste. That is the art of combining a man and woman. Man and woman should not be united simply on the consideration of sex life. There are many other considerations, especially character and taste. If the taste and character differ between the man and woman, their combination will be unhappy. According to astrological calculation, a person is classified according to whether he belongs to the godly or demoniac quality. A girl of a particular quality should be entrusted to a boy of similar quality. Then they will be happy. But if… the combination is incompatible; they cannot be happy in such a marriage. Our process is to assist devotees to have a PREPARED MARRIAGE with healthy relationship skills as distinguished from ARRANGED or UNPREPARED marriages. Data is maintained (confidentially) and suggested matches offered. We have been in existence for only a few years but have had success in matching many devotees. We prayerfully consider each registrant’s requirements, data and situation and endeavor to match each one with a similar or like-minded soul. One very special feature of our matrimonial services is that connections are made personally by trained and dedicated Marriage/Family Life Educators and this process is not left up to a computer.
To register, devotees print and fill out the Vaisnava Marriage Services Registry Form (PDF), being as truthful as they can, pay a one-time registration fee of $40 and comply with the requirements of the Service:
- Always be courteous and respectful in your dealings with any devotee referred to you by our service.
- Let us know if the suggested match does or does not work out in a timely manner, within one week of your coming to this conclusion.
- Provide a current (recent) photo right away to the person with whom you are matched.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Get premarital relationship skill-building and assessment counseling before you marry.
