The Phoenix Project is an in-depth course (8-10 classes) in interpersonal relationships for ex-offenders to prepare them for healthy reentry into the community. A recently released inmate has many issues dealing with relationships. He or she may struggle with feelings of betrayal, desertion, anger, mistrust, insecurity, inadequacy and jealousy. These feelings may be experienced by himself or by his family and friends. The reentry person has to reestablish him or herself with a job or skills, residence, and friends. Therefore, some of the topics included in this series of classes are:
- Dealing with Anger
- Establishing Trust
- Setting and Achieving Goals
- The Benefits of a Principled Relationship
- Communication and Conflict Resolution
- The Power of Forgiveness and Appreciation
- Re-Connecting with Family & Friends in Healthy ways
