We had a wonderfully successful event for Black Marriage Day 2011. Over 400 people attended and 45 couples renewed their marriage vows. There were people of every description: young, old, white, black, married, unmarried.
TV reporter Obie Shelton was the Master of Ceremony and played two awe-inspiring musical selections on the violin. Carlos Jones (of Carlos and the Plus Band) sang a memorable song and we had a great day. We received a proclamation from Congresswoman Marcia Fudge and Dasi-Ziyad Family Institute received a proclamation from Cleveland Heights City Council.
